The ability to monitor and measure the volumetric flow and entrained air in froth streams after the deaerator is critical for process control and efficiency. Due to the complex, highly viscous nature of the froth streams these measurements have been impossible to achieve with previous technology. Now, with CiDRA’s innovative sonar flow measurement technology, oilsands operators can obtain precise volumetric flow and entrained air measurements of the froth. These measurements can be used to adjust process variables to optimize processes and improve product yield.
