The hydrometallurgical process of solvent extraction/electrowinning (SX/EW) of copper production requires volumetric flow measurements for control and efficiency. Due to the characteristics of the pregnant leach solution (PLS) during the leaching process, scaling often prevents accurate measurement readings. The SONARtrac® flow meter’s non-instrusive design is not affected by scaling and allows the customer to achieve reliable, repeatable flow measurements.
