The flow rate of gypsum slurry in the sludge dewatering process is a critical measurement for coal power plants. When other flow meters failed to provide sufficient measurements, CiDRA’s sonar flow meter proved to be the ideal solution, delivering both accurate and repeatable volumetric flow measurements. Due to its non-contact clamp-on design, the SONARtrac system does not come into contact with the process fluid and is unaffected by the abrasive nature of the gypsum slurry. Therefore, the SONARtrac® allowed plant operators to achieve greater flow and process control.
